During 2003, Hong Kong people have repeatedly demonstrated what it means by “people’s power”. We have successfully postponed the Article 23 legislation, and showed our strong will of universal suffrage and constitutional reform in the District Council election.
Looking forward to year 2004, we wish Hong Kong people will once again “make ourselves heard, make ourselves seen”.
The Hong Kong Human Rights Monitor has produced a calendar, named “Make Ourselves Heard, Make Ourselves Seen -- People’s Power 2004” (A2 in size, 16.5" x 23.5"). It lists a few historic dates demonstrating people’s power. The calendar also aims to encourage people to care for people from different sectors in the community, and actively participate in the LegCo Election in September 2004. The pyramids on the top left corner symbolize that we are moving from the old days to a new era.
